The course is 2000 meters starting in Lake Washington and finishing just at the west end of the cut. The best viewing is from the Montlake Cut or Bridge. Launching is at the University of Washington’s Conibear shellhouse located just east of the U.W. Intramural Activities Building and tennis courts.

Listed below are the major events for 2019 with event form details (if applicable).  Click on an entry to see further details.  Financial Aid to help meet class or travel costs is available to all Green Lake rowers, please contact the office for information.

January 26 (Saturday), NW Ergomania

Ergomania, our local indoor rowing (erg) championships, is Saturday, January 27. If you are interested in racing, please RSVP on Team Cowboy by January 16, the same day as the first erg class with Leah & Alika. Nick highly recommends registering for the erg class if you plan to compete.

March 16, Green Lake Spring Regatta

Cost to GLC rowers: $45 (pays for regatta and coaching fees)

This is one of 3 Green Lake Crew hosted Regattas held throughout the year on our buoyed 1000-meter course. Note: Parking is difficult and illegally parked cars are often ticketed. Master rowers are all encouraged to sign up for dock duty in between races.

This event is becoming a must attend for master rowers – a fun night that also helps maintain Green Lake programs and equipment.  The latest details on the auction can be found here.

Takes place at Lake Stevens.

May 4, Opening Day/Windermere Cup

An event for our experienced boats which happens on the Montlake Cut near UW. Green Lake Adult Crew drew and will be fielding a Women’s Masters 8+ in the 45+ age category this year.

This race has events for juniors, collegiate, masters, and sometimes international Olympic team rowers. The course is 2000 meters starting in Lake Washington and finishing just at the west end of the cut. The best viewing is from the Montlake Cut or Bridge. Launching is at the University of Washington’s Conibear Shellhouse, located just east of the U.W. Intramural Activities Building and tennis courts. Parking is good at U.W. lots E11/E12 or E1.

June 21-23, USRowing NW Masters Regional Championships
Aka “Masters Regionals”, a three day event for all boats which happens onVancouver Lake, WA.  More details (e.g. lodging) can be found on Team Cowboy.  The 2000 meter race course (regatta website) at Vancouver Lake is centered on Vancouver Lake Park. Launching, parking and best viewing are all in the park.

July 20-21, Cascadia Masters
Our crew is planning to return to Delta Deas Rowing Club in British Columbia for our second year at Cascadia Masters.

August 3, Green Lake Summer Extravaganza

Our Women’s Masters 4+ earned a guaranteed entry at the world’s largest regatta last year in Boston. More details coming as the event approaches.
